Once capital of Trialt. After Varkar's conquest it was ruled by Skufruss until the Epiphany of Kord. Karennal is the site of the temple of Kord forming the centre of the Kordasa. Once a tiny, disused backstreet church, the temple now covers nearly half the city.
Increasingly defined by the presence and activites of the Kordasa, the members of the Church of Kord Triumphant often refer to Karennal as "the Holy City".

After the scourge of the Elf Death Karennal came under siege by the forces of Gadûhvrás, but was rescued by a paradoxical action by orc forces from Kîshshul serving the orcish version of Kord, Ashmuzkor-Kord.
