Enning

Northern land, horse-country, ruled well by Thelvian Tyrkor, seer and warrior Kin, since the Slaying
-

Enning was a small pocket of land between Trialt and Sildor, and its’ inhabitants had more contact with the elves than any of the other northern realms. Horses raised in Enning were among the best anywhere, and although they didn’t compare to the best elven steeds, the stock was sufficiently good that elf horse breeders were known to travel to the horse-markets of Dorsal and buy the odd horse. Enning managed to remained neutral in all the turmoil between Sildor and its’ human neighbors.

Enning also surrendered to Varkar without resisting. The Dragon ordered a purge of elves and halfelves from the land, and the resulting slaughter of some of the best of Enning's citizens left the country greatly reduced in leaders, magic-workers and thinkers.

The Kin ruler of Enning under the Dragon was Thelvian Tyrkor, a warrior and seer - an unusual combination for one of the Kin - and in the chaos following the Slaying, he proved a strong independent leader. His rule had always been harsh but fair, and required very little modification to change it to a stable kingdom.

Now Enning remains an island of stability in a turbulent region. The famous horse herds grow numerous again, and the cavalry of Enning, guided by the prescience of Thelvian, ensures that the borders are strongly held.

Most aspects of life in Enning are controlled strongly but fairly, but in one regard Tyrkor is quite firm; no temples are built, and no priests may preach. Religion, he contends, has caused more strife and bloodshed than anything else. Given his unique precience, many considered it possible he had more reasons than that, and his vision was confirmed during the Holy Wars of the 17 and 1800s

There was little his precognition could do to mitigate the Elf Death, but Enning was one of the first Northern nations to recover from the plague. Smaller than it was, Enning continues to rebuild in 2100, always with one second-sighted eye on the Scorpion Empire.
