The tower was constructed by epic magic in 1602 and is visible for miles as it soars over Vorsand.
The alumini who emerged from the Dark Tower were all trained to a very high standard in the Art Magic and were characterized by a tendency to take no crap from anybody.
After the Fall of Vorsand in 1655, the Dark Tower was partially ruined and abandoned but remains basically intact, sealed off by the Iron Jungle. It's always possible that Skufruss may attempt to reclaim it, assuming the dragons went away...
