Redeemers

Sub-cult of Aderra dedicated to reclaiming the Desolation, now located in the Nhased Waste
1600

A splinter cult of Aderra's temple, the Redeemers lived on the fringes of the Desolation, and dedicated their lives and powers to trying to undo the damage wrought by the dragonarmy. What with the hostile terrain, the fell creatures that wander the region, and the dragonarmy's patrols, their lives were hard and often short, but they continued to try, yearning to reclaim any tiny piece of the beauty that was once Sildor.

With the return of the Elves and the founding of Belamir, there was much exchange of knowledge between the elves and the Redeemers. Although the Redeemers have made their considerable body of knowledge on the Desolation available to the elves, by and large they continued their own projects rather than removing to Belamir itself.

With the shrinking of the Desolation over the next couple of centuries, the numbers of Redeemers shrank as the completion of their great work seemed near. This was changed by the Flaying and the creation of the Nhased Waste.

The Redeemers recognized immediately that the Waste was a very similar creation to the Desolation; and though the land it marred was not as beautiful as Sildor, they split off a group to apply their skills to the mitigation of the damage.

The majority of the Redeemers were exterminated by the Scorpion Empire in the early 2000s, leaving only a small number working selflessly to combat the effects of the Flaying.
