Elverandil Mastermsith

Most skilled smith of the Elves, forged the Seven Swords of the Noldor, leads the Loyalists
-

The greatest weaponsmith in all history, Elvarandil forged the puissant Swords of the Noldor for six of the greatest Elven heroes to wield against Varkar Barduric. Having watched all of them fail and die, he concluded that no sword of elven make alone could do the job, and created his last and greatest sword, Mergil, in collabaration with the dwarven mastersmith Durgeddin the Black. However, the fall of Khundrukar, the Last Battle and the destruction of Lantalaure overtook him before he could deliver the blade.

History had always assumed that both Elverandil and his greatest creation were lost at Lantalaure, but as it turned out neither was true. Mergil remained in the ruins of Khundrukar until retrieved by the Dragonslayers, and Elverandil himself survived and went into exile with his people.

In the aftermath of the Dragonslaying, Elverandil once again put his unique talents to use for the benefit of the Elven people and the dismay of the Curst.

Elverandil opposed the rise of the Scorpion Queen from the first, trying to track her down and stamp out her treason. He gathered and organized the loyal elves in the wake of the massacre of the royal house and led them in retreat to Lomegor to oppose the Scorpion Empire.

His only son Dilthal stands by his side.
