Tormentor

Fae Mhor sword, cursed and damned, demonic in nature, carried by Galoriand
?

Elven legends describe Tormentor as a cursed sword, captured from some unknown evil wielder in the misty past by the hero Galoriand and carried by him to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. It was taken from his body after his death at Lantalaure, became part of Varkar's hoard, and is reputed to be being carried again by Surya of Tellare.

It later emerged that Tormentor was of Fae Mhor manufacture, dating from before the reliance on the magical ores of Nindolen made Fae Mhor equipment so vulnerable to sunlight. It was created by the master swordsmith Dariask Baneblade.

The sword Tormentor is made of dark grey adamnatite, with a plain leather-bound steel hilt and an jewel of a disquieting purple colour carved set into the pommel. It communicates rarely, by empathic impressions.

Tormentor was originally the sword of the Fae Mhor warlord Raldar Z'hin. Unusually dominant for a male Fae Mhor, he forged an alliance between several of the major FM houses and was preparing to lead a full-scale invasion of Sildor when Galoriand tracked him down and killed him in single combat.

The female priesthood of Lolth were quick to declare this reverse a sign of her disfavour and the alliance collapsed.

Galoriand carried the sword, reisting its' temptations, until he was slain by the Dragon Varkar Barduric at Londannath. It then lay in his hoard for nine hundred years until the death of the dragon and its' acquisition by Surya of Tellare.

Tormentor, as the name suggests, is inherently evil. It will constantly try and urge its' holder to ruthless acts, and favours all-out berserk assaults.
