Gozân Vráspan

Varkar's greatest general, took control of most of his armies after the Slaying, killed at Vorsand by Sack.
1601

Varkar Barduric's most honoured and trusted general was Gozân Vráspan, believed by many to be a lizardman, although he was in fact of the Kin. His tactical and strategic skills were legendary, and he was a formidable warrior into the bargain. It was widely known that he spoke publicly in the Dragonrealms of his expectation of leading the Dragonarmy to Thornal to plant Varkar's banner in the ruins of the Imperial Palace.

Gozan's greatest secret, spotted by Sack in their final battle, was his ancestry of half-dragon, half-elf.

After the Slaying, Gozân held together the bulk of Varkar's armies in Duceor and welded them back into an effective force. Overwhelmed by the effects of the Kingmaker, they launched an assault through the Desolation on the Elves in Belamir, and were actually engaged in battle when the enchantment was broken. Gozân managed the incredible feat of holding his force together, disengaging from the Elves, retreating through the Desolation and reaching the city of Vorsand, where he discovered Varkar's palace held against him by a Githyanki raiding party bent on retrieving a lost sword. During the battle for Vorsand that ensued, Gozân was killed by an unknown assassin, and his army disintegrated.

His tomb stands on a height over Vorsand, though it was looted by Gorfang and Eloy in 1656.
